“I had the pleasure of taking two courses Professor Ric taught and they were very insightful into how much preparation and constant education is needed in the fields of medical and legal interpreting. While learning terminology in both languages is one of the things we go over, he also taught us the ethics that go into our roles as interpreters as well as other tools that we may need to help improve our ability to interpret. It also helped that while we did have notes, lectures and readings, we also took time in class to actually practice interpreting with the headsets that are often used and also worked on getting used to note taking.
