I am incredibly grateful to have had Professor Ric as my instructor. His dedication to teaching, deep knowledge of interpreting skills, and commitment to helping his students succeed truly set him apart. Professor Ric goes above and beyond to ensure that all students grasp the subject, providing valuable insights and support. His passion for the field is contagious! Every class was engaging, informative, and inspiring. I have not only gained a deeper understanding of interpreting methods and terminology but also developed a greater appreciation for the profession as a whole. I wholeheartedly recommend Professor Ric to anyone seeking a dedicated and exceptional educator.

I would like to share my experience and thank Mr. Dominguez for helping me move forward with my career as an interpreter. I felt comfortable, welcomed, motivated, and—most importantly—confident during the class. He is very experienced as well as professional. After taking my first course, I am looking forward to continuing with more courses under Mr. Dominguez's guidance.

I had the opportunity to learn under professor Ric Dominguez and it is one I hope no student in this field misses out on. Aside from the legal terms we covered, the ethics we went over and the insight to the court process , his knowledge acquired through his lived experiences in his work place are indispensable. His teaching style is one that prepares you for the field with mock scenarios and even opportunities to sit in on real life court proceedings. He doesn't just teach, he prepares you. I can confidently say that his mentorship has left a lasting impact on my academic and professional journey.

I had the pleasure of taking two courses Professor Ric taught and they were very insightful into how much preparation and constant education is needed in the fields of medical and legal interpreting. While learning terminology in both languages is one of the things we go over, he also taught us the ethics that go into our roles as interpreters as well as other tools that we may need to help improve our ability to interpret. It also helped that while we did have notes, lectures and readings, we also took time in class to actually practice interpreting with the headsets that are often used and also worked on getting used to note taking. It’s a great mix of different learning methods that help us as students retain the information and tools needed to do what’s best for our community that rely on our ability to interpret for them.

I took the medical and Legal interpreting classes with Professor Ric Domínguez. He is an outstanding interpreting instructor whose passion for language access and student success is truly inspiring. His classes are engaging, challenging, and filled with real-world scenarios that have helped me grow tremendously as a future interpreter. What makes Professor Domínguez exceptional is his ability to explain complex terminology and ethical standards in a way that’s easy to understand and apply. Thanks to his guidance, I feel more prepared with the skills and mindset I need to be an interpreter. I’m incredibly grateful to have learned from him and would recommend his courses to anyone serious about becoming an interpreter.
